RECIPE: Jaggery & Wheat Flour Ladoos

You only need a few ingredients and 15 minutes to make these quick ladoos!

INGREDIENTS (makes 12 ladoos)

  • 1.5 cups whole wheat flour

  • 1 cup SaveAGram jaggery powder

  • 0.5 cup water

  • 1 tbsp ghee

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder (optional)


  1. Dry roast the wheat flour on low heat until is fragrant and changes colour slightly. Keep mixing it around; don’t let it burn.

  2. Once the color changes, remove from heat and leave to cool down.

  3. Melt jaggery in boiling water. Keep stirring so it doesn’t become too thick. Keep on medium heat for about 4 minutes.

  4. Add cardamom powder (if using), mix well, and remove jaggery syrup from heat.

  5. When syrup has cooled a bit (so you can touch it without burning your fingers), add the jaggery syrup to the roasted flour and mix it altogether.

  6. Add ghee and knead a few times.

  7. Take a big pinch of dough and form ladoos by rolling into balls between your palms.

  8. Ladoos are ready! You can store them in an air tight container.
