Homestays in Garhwal & Kerala

If you're looking for a luxurious, resort experience or a made-to-order, curated village scene SaveAGram is not in that league....

We at SaveAGram have proudly selected hosts in our villages- hosts who are happy to share their humble home, delicious food made from freshly picked farm produce and cooked mostly on wood fired stoves. This experience is rich with the sheer uniqueness and variety it offers whether going for a walk on an old well-trodden path or treks through jungles and discovering water vines and secret clear pools to swim in.

We offer homestays in two different villages: Wayanad, Kerala and Garhwal, Uttarakhand.

A few notes:

Getting to Wayanad -

  • The nearest domestic airport either is Calicut or Mysore - A taxi will pick you and a two hour scenic drive (with your cameras coming out every few minutes) will get you to your host's home.

  • These international airports  all can connect to Calicut or Mysore - Chennai, Bangalore or Mumbai

  • Alternatively one can drive 6 hours from Bangalore or Kochi airports. We can help arrange transport for all of this.

Getting to Garhwal -

  • The nearest domestic airport is Dehradun - A taxi will pick you and drive again for two hours, through the wonderful Himalayan vistas, to your host's home.

  • The nearest international airport is New Delhi.

Best time to visit  - The best months for both the places are between February to April and then again from September to early December. If you do not mind temperatures hovering around 10 deg in Garhwal and 18 deg Celsius in Wayanad, December is also good to visit! We do provide some nice, thick quilts!

Don't speak the language - Don't worry we have guides at an extra price, who can be with you throughout and help translate. We have also had visitors who do not speak the local language or much English manage and enjoy their stay.
