    These tiny seeds are painstakingly taken from the amaranth plant by farmers in Uttarakhand, who never use any chemicals on their farms.  They may have some bits of sand, so do wash it thoroughly using a sieve.  They are painstakingly collected by the farmers and cleaned in their villages.

      Amaranth or Ramdana as it is locally known, comes from farmers who grow them the traditional way in the Himalayas. This gluten-free grain has been grown and used for more than 8000 years by the Aztecs who considered it their staple food. This superfood is packed with minerals like calcium, potassium, phosphorus, folates and traces of Vitamin B6.

      Amaranth is a gluten-free grain rich in protein, fibre, micro-nutrients and antioxidants. It is said to reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol and boost bone strength.
